Alamosa Campground is on the Alamosa River 4.5 miles above Terrace Reservoir Dam. There are 5 campsites, one is pull through, with tables, fireplaces, vault type toilet, and ample parking. There is no water available, bring your own. There is public fishing at Terrace Reservoir and trail access to Alamosa-Rock Creek and Big Lake Trails. Maneuvering space for large trailers and recreation vehicles is limited. Naturally acidic water severely limits fishing in the Alamosa river between Stunner Campground and Terrace Reservoir. No water, no trash service - PACK IN PACK OUT.

The Alder Guard Station is located two miles north of the town of South Fork along Alder Creek. The guard station was built in 1910 and was the residence and office for the local ranger district. The guard station is ideally situated to access trails and roads in the area to explore the Divide Ranger District. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated. There is electricity, hot water, indoor toilet, electric stove,refridgerator, dining room table, kitchen table, two bunkbeds, one single bed (with mattresses) on the second floor and a couch on the first floor. Some kitchen utensils and pots and pans are provided. Bring sleeping bags and/or blankets/sheets. There is a wood stove in the guard station (wood and splitting maul provided) and several picnic tables outside. The wood stove is the only source of heat for the guard station. The area offers many opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, 4 wheel drive adventures, hunting, wildlife viewing, boating, fishing, etc. The trailhead for the Alder Bench Trail is located just north of the guard station. Forest Road 610 is a 4x4 gravel road north of the guard station. Renters are required to pack out all garbage. DO NOT BURN GARBAGE IN THE FIRE PIT OR WOOD STOVE. PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. CABIN MUST BE CLEANED BEFORE LEAVING. LEAVE THE CABIN IN THE CONDITION YOU WOULD LIKE TO FIND IT. Visitors to the National Forest are responsible for knowing the rules and regulations of the forest. Almont Campground is located adjacent to Colorado State Highway 135. It is typically used for short-term stays of 1 to 5 days. This campground is in walking distance of the Almont Gorge, where the East River and Taylor River join to form the Gunnison River. Other recreation opportunities from Almont Campground include 4-wheel driving, mountain biking and kayaking. The landscape is mostly aspen and cottonwood trees. There are 10 campsites.

Developed campground camping with the following attractions: access to the Sangre de Cristo wilderness trails from the Rainbow trail. The Rainbow trail is a motorized trail which includes ATV and motorcycle use and runs along the foot of the Sangres. Wilderness trails, that climb above the Rainbow trail into the Sangres, are only accessed by foot or livestock. The closest wilderness trails include Cottonwood, Comanche, Venable, and Goodwin. High Mountain lakes are accessible from the wilderness trails. 50 campsites, 9 are RV accessible with a spur length of no more that 29 feet, and 3 are Horse sites. Water from a handpump, accessible toilets and trash receptacles are located in the campground. Each campsite has a firegrate/grill and a picnic table. Firewood is available for sale by the concessionaire at the campground. Horse Sites: The 3 horse sites have more space (no corralls) and are away from the other campsites. You must bring only certified weed free hay, or certified weed free cubes, or pellets.

Located 22 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado on Colorado Highway 14. Campground is adjacent to Cache La Poudre River. Area varies from heavily forested to open meadow and is surrounded by steep mountains. Facilities provided include restrooms and drinking water. Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table. Popular activities include fishing, white water rafting and hiking. Sites may be available on a first come first serve basis outside the reservation season. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. There are no sewer site hookups. All equipment must fit on site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only. One water source located in each loop of campground. Water is not available after 9/30.. Tents allowed on tent pads only. Tent pads are 12'x15 Reservations are taken from 5-25-07 through 9-2-07.

Located in north central Colorado. Campground is adjacent to Granby Lake. Typical Rocky Mountain afternoon thunderstorm weather pattern. Restroom facilities and payphone are provided. Sites may be available on a first come - first served basis outside the reservation season. The Arapaho Bay boat ramp will be open when the Roaring Fork Loop is open during 2010. The boat ramps at Hilltop and Willow Creek Reservoir are closed. Hand powered boats such as canoes, kayaks and row boats will be allowed to launch and retrieve at those sites. Due to the beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground.

Aspen Glade is located in Southern Colorado. Much of the campground is shaded by ponderosa pine and a mixture of spruce, aspen and fir trees. Fishing is great in the area as the lower end of the Gold Medal Trout Water area is just 1/4 upstream from the campground. Reservations for Aspen Glade are available mid-May through Labor Day weekend. They can be made up to 6 months in advance but they must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date.

Aspen Glen is a small, pleasant 9-site campground set amidst an aspen and mixed conifer forest and open meadow. It is located adjacent to Colorado Highway 14 and the Cache La Poudre River. Hiking, fishing, mountain biking, scenic driving, four-wheel driving and wildlife viewing are recreational opportunities available nearby. Facilities provided include a restroom and drinking water (hand pump). Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table. $13. Fees are half-price when water is off. Reservations are not accepted. All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interagency Senior, Interagency Access, Golden Age and Golden Access passes provide cardholders half price for basic campground fees.

The Aspen Leaf cabin sits within aspen/mountain shrub vegetation at an elevation of 9,000 on the north end of the Uncompahgre NF National Forest. Aspen Leaf cabin is 1 of 3 cabins at the Cold Springs Work Center. The original cabins were constructed in the 1930's and are located just off the divide Forks Road (FSR 402) The cabin can be accessed by passenger vehicle in the summer and early fall, and by 4WD from Oct. 1 to Oct. 30, depending on weather conditions. The north Uncompahgre NF has an extensive ATV trail system known as the Divide Forks ATV complex, which provides 50+ miles of trails. Mountain biking is quite popular as well, with the well-known Tabaguache trail bisecting the Uncompahgre NF. Some fishing is available at Big Creek Reservoir and several small streams. In the fall, the main activities include recreational trail use and hunting. All visitors should expect semi-rustic cabin accommodations.

Historical research, photos and stories available at the cabin are made possible in part through a grant from the Colorado Historical Society.
