This blue blazed trail starts at an elevation of approx. 1,100' and ascends to approx. 2,400'. Takes about an hour of steady hiking to reach the junction with the Appalachain Trail and Fullers Rocks which are just to the north of the junction on the east side of the trail. The rocks sit atop the ridge and afford an outstanding, unobstructed view north, east, and south. The James River flows below as it cuts through the Blue Ridge on its way to the Piedmont and eventually the sea. Big Rocky Row, a higher point along the same ridge, rises directly to the north about a mile further along the AT. Thus this hike could easily be made into an 8 miler.
