The trail begins at the Canyon Creek parking area along the Powderface Trail. It follows the Canyon Creek bed west and then north through the first canyon as it ascends to Mt. Bryant and Bryant Lake.
As the trail follows the creek bed, most of this trail is over rocky terrain. The trail is poorly marked and any cairns are usually knocked down by those wanting to keep this hide-away a secret. The tenting sites are primitive and you need to pick and choose the best sites on either side of the lake.
Take highway 66 west from Bragg Creek and continue on this road as it changes from pavement to a narrow dirt/gravel road. Follow this for roughly 10 minutes. You will descend a rather steep and windy section, but at the bottom is the parking area (grassy) on the right hand side. Begin your hike here and head west along the rocky creek bed.
