Trail Map |
From the Mitchell Lake TH, the Beaver Creek Trail #911 climbs into the Indian Peaks Wilderness. After a few switchbacks, the trail circles the ridge and intersects with the Mount Audubon Trail #913. The Beaver Creek Trail continues northward for 3.4 miles, descends the northeastern flank of the mountain on a nice graded trail, and drops into Coney Flats.
Mitchell Lake TH – From Nederland, drive 13 miles north on Colorado Highway 72 to the town of Ward. Look for a sign for the Brainard Lake Recreation Area and turn west onto County Road (CR) 102. Travel to the fee station and past Brainard Lake. A signed side-road leads to the Mitchell Lake TH parking area. The Beaver Creek Trail begins on the north side of this lot.
