Trail Map |
The entrance to the old Branigan Mine may be seen on the hillside across the creek. Numerous gold bricks were shipped from this mine which began production in the 1890's. Upper Bramlet Lake may be reached by bushwhacking up .5 mile west of the lower lake. No motorized vehicles are permitted on this trail, and no vehicles are allowed within the wilderness boundary.
From Libby, travel 24 miles south on US Highway 2 and turn right onto West Fisher Road 231. Continue approximately 6 miles to the junction with Lake Creek road and turn left. Proceed about .8 mile to the Lake Creek Campground-Bramlet Lake junction, turn right. Travel about 2 miles to the trailhead. The last mile of the road is extremely rough. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
