The first 1/2 mile of this trail is on an old logging road and the first 2 miles are suitable for begining mountain bikers. The entire trail is open to motorcycles but not to ATV's. The trail crosses two foot log bridges closer to the lake. The trail occasionally opens up to scenic vistas of the Bitterroot Valley and in early summer, you will see a variety of wildflowers.
Approximately 8 miles south of Hamilton on Highway 93, turn west on Lost Horse Road #429. Follow this road for 2 1/3 miles. Turn north on Forest Road #496 and travel 4 miles to the Camas Lake Trailhead.
