Trail Map |
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed Loggers Lake starting in 1939 and completed in 1942. Several springs feed water into the lake basin, helping maintain a cool temperature.
Take the 1-mile trail that circles the lake; a short spur leads to the spring that feeds the lake.
From Bunker, MO take Hwy A west 1/2 mile; turn south onto Dent County road 565 which becomes Forest Road 2221 in Shannon County (a sign for the campground is at the junction) for 6 miles. Turn onto Forest Road 2193; it's about a half-mile to the picnic area and a little further to the campground.
