The trail winds from Bouton Lake to Boykin Springs Recreation Area. A three-quarter-mile mile spur leads to the historic Aldridge Sawmill site. Hikers can see the Neches River from several points along the trail. Portions of the trail follow an old tramway once used as a rail line to haul logs to the sawmills.
Bouton Lake Trailhead - follow Highway 63 from Zavalla, TX for 7 miles; turn right (south) on Forest Road 303 for 7 miles.
