This trail is a wonderful day hike with beautiful views of a large portion of the Middle Fork of the Payette River. It travels up the ridge between Rattlesnake Creek and Silver Creek to an old Forest Service lookout, which is evident by an alidade stand.
To reach the trailhead, travel north on NF-698 for approximately 14.9 miles to the junction with NF-671. Take a right on NF-671 and travel approximately 3.6 miles to Rattlesnake Summit. At the summit, take a right on NF-671F. The trailhead is immediately on the left.
