Island Lake is a small, sheltered lake in an area of rough, crater strewn terrain. Although cottages and cabins surround the lake, it is quiet as motors are not permitted on the lake. The campground has a nice beach and a self-guided nature trail.
From the north, leave M-33 about 10
miles south of its intersection with M-72 in Mio. Turn west on county Road 486 and go approximately 1 mile to the site.
From the south, leave M-33 about 6 miles north of Rose City. Turn west on County Road 486 and go approximately 1 mile to the site.
