Trail Map |
Tule Creek canyon is an abandoned forest service trail however the creek and canyon offer some unique landscape and views. There is an over grown trail that you can follow for a miles then it kind of disappears. After the mile I picked up the trail at various times and even crawled through a tunnel under the brush for quite a distance before turning back short of the Dry Lakes uphill portion. If you hike this trail wear long pants and I also recommend long sleeves. The canyon has water year around.
If you can find the old trail it goes as far as 4 miles where it intersects with the Dry Lakes Ridge Trail.
From Ojai travel North on hwy 33 to the trail head. You can access the trail from either end of the bridge but the North end skips the first creek crossing.
