Mount Tom is a short mountain in Western Maine with great views of Pleasant Mountain and Kezar Pond. The Saco river, a popular canoeing river in the summer, snakes through the flat land between Pleasant Mountain and Mount Tom.
The trail to the top of Mount Tom is a steady climb along an old jeep trail. The trail is clear and wide for most of the hike. At the summit, the trail winds through the trees and curves back along the summit ridge.
On Rt 302, just East of Fryeburg, turn North onto Menotomy Road. At 2.4 miles, a small cemetery will be on your Right. Parking is available here.
Continue up Menotomy Road, from where you park, to the Inglenook Farm barn, a gate across the road next to the barn says that hikers are welcome.
