From the camp office, walk up the road past the swimming pool, the retreat center, and the pond. After about ½ mile pass an old barn and then cross over a bridge. Continue along the dirt road and pass a brown cinder block house on the rt. in about 3/10 mi. Continue on until you come to a sign indicating “Falls.” Follow the trail from here to the falls crossing the creek several times. The trail may be wet in places if has rained recently. The waterfall drops about 60 feet into a shaded pool surrounded by large boulders upon which one can sit. It’s a very peaceful, inspiring setting, and a nice retreat from the daily bustle!
Take Exit 132 at Dixie Caverns onto Route 11/460 towards Shawsville. After approximately 8 miles, turn left onto Alleghany Springs Road. Camp Alta Mons is approximately six miles on the right.
