Denali State Park - Byers Lake And Cascade Falls

This popular trail offers some of the most majestic views of Mount McKinley from the East side of the lake. Although the trail is not difficult, lots of exposed tree roots on the first mile of trail can be tiring and hazardous in wet conditions. Hike this trail clockwise in order to tackle the most difficult section first. After you reach the suspension bridge trail conditions improve greatly. There are picnic tables, campsites, and primitive outhouses on the Northeast shoreline of the lake. You may observe nesting trumpeter swans and loons at the North end of the lake. You will cross a footbridge at the South end of the lake where you may observe salmon returning to spawn.

There is a possible side trips to cascading falls: A beautiful, spring fed and now melt cascading falls that provides a refreshing break on warm days.
