This trail can be hiked either as an 8.5 mile loop or an out-and-back to the boulder field (about 3 miles round trip).

Take the Belfast Trail to the base of the boulder field crossing a few creeks. The trail then rises steeply to the right. Be sure to go onto the rocks on the left before the trail slowly leaves the boulder field. At the top of the ridge you will reach an intersection; take the Gunter Ridge Trail to your left. Enjoy the views while you stay at the top of the ridge. After descending from the mountain, take a left onto the Glenwood Horse Trail and follow it back to the parking lot.
