From the Massie Gap parking lot take the Rhododendron Trail to the top of the ridge, where it crosses the Appalachian Trail. Turn right (Northbound) onto the white blazed Appalachian Trail and keep enjoying the 360 degree scenic views. After reaching a high point on Wildburn Ridge the trail will start descending towards Quebec Branch. Cross the creek and keep following the AT until you reach the Wise Shelter. Shortly after, cross Big Wilson Creek and keep following the AT until you reach a 4 way intersection with the Wilson Creek Trail. Turn right onto the orange blazed Wilson Creek Trail. Shortly after cross Big Wilson Creek again. This is where the Wilson Creek Trail becomes the Seed Orchard Road Trail. Cross a few more creeks until you reach the Wilson Creek Trail again. Turn left onto the red blazed Wilson Creek Trail and start enjoying the many cascades of Big Wilson Creek. There are many photo opportunities along this section of the trail. Follow the red blazed trail as it stops following the creek after sometime and start climbing towards the campground. After reaching the campground, walk to your right towards the country store. The yellow blazed Stampers Branch Trail starts right behind the building. Follow this trail across another creek and the main park road to the top of the state park at the visitor center. At this point, the hike is almost done, however, the grand finale is still ahead. Follow the Twin Pinnacles Trail to the overlooks of Little Pinnacle and Big Pinnacle. These two overlooks offer amazing scenic views and are the high points of the State Park. To finish the hike and go back to Massie Gap, follow the white blazed trail down the mountain.
