Huzzah Ponds include three stocked ponds, natural landscape formations and vegetation, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The area is ideal for fishing, hiking, viewing wildlife, and picnicking. The ponds were constructed and operated as part of a fish hatchery that went out of business prior to the Forest Service purchasing the land.
The two-mile trail is relatively flat, and circles the largest of the old hatchery ponds. Almost ½ mile of this trail is universally accessible, meeting the width, grade, and surface requirements for accommodating wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
