From the parking lot take the white blazed Appalachian Trail southbound. After going up and down the first hill you will reach an information board at 1.6 miles. Continue on the AT towards US 56 for another 2.4 miles to the Hanging Rock Overlook. The overlook is at 3,500 ft and offers an 180 degree view down the valley from the top of the cliff.
The trail is in the Three Ridges Wilderness. Groups size is limited to 10 hikers. Other restrictions apply.
