The Lincoln Woods Trail is one of the easiest and most heavily used trails on the White Mountain National Forest. As a main route into the headwaters of the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River, backpackers, day hikers, fishermen and mountain bikers share this very popular multiple use trail in all seasons (motorized vehicles are prohibited). During the summer and fall months hikers wishing to visit the Franconia falls (3.2 miles from the Lincoln Woods Visitor center) must obtain a permit from the visitor center.
