This is an awsome hike! We did it in early December with about 6 inches of snow on the ground. It is a heck of a pull, but really worth it. The first 3 1/2 miles are straight up with many switch backs. You get a "break" on the last 1/2 mile on the ridgeline, but it is like the teeh on a saw blad up and down too. Very challenging hike, but thats what its all about right!?
