Wolf Gap Recreation Area Campground
The Wolf Gap Recreation Area lies in a gap of Great North Mountain, exactly on the border between Virginia and West Virginia. Once the site of Civilian Conservation Corps Camp, Wolf Gap NF-15, this campground offers 9 family-sized campsites complete with tent pad, picnic table and fire ring.and a separate picnic area. The campsites are first come first served. This is an unattended campground.
Very popular hikes lead north and south from the campground to Tibbet Knob and Big Schloss, both of which offer panoramic views of nearby valleys.
This is a Pack-it-in, Pack-it-out area, so you are responsible for bagging and carrying out your own trash.
